Openbite
A visible gap between the upper and lower teeth, even when the mouth is closed. This means that the upper and lower teeth do not touch normally, particularly at the front of the mouth.
Overbite
The upper teeth excessively overlap the lower teeth when the mouth is closed. In other words, the upper teeth cover the lower teeth too much, creating an abnormal misalignment between the two jaws.
Crossbite
The upper and lower teeth do not meet properly but cross each other abnormally when the mouth is closed. This means that, during mouth closure, some upper teeth are positioned inside the lower teeth, leading to poor alignment.
Gapped teeth
A gap or abnormal space between two teeth, usually between the front teeth. This phenomenon is common, especially in children when their baby teeth fall out and the permanent teeth have not yet fully erupted. However, it can also occur in adulthood.
How does the treatment work?

- In treatmentDuring the treatment, the aligners must be worn at all times, except when the patient eats or brushes their teeth. To ensure the effectiveness of the treatment and adapt to the changes, the aligners are replaced approximately every two weeks.
- ProgressionAfter a few months (the duration depends on the initial situation and the desired results), visible improvements in the alignment of the teeth and/or jaws are observed.
- RetainerIt is often recommended to wear a retainer to maintain the results achieved over the long term.A retainer is typically used at the end of the treatment to prevent the teeth from shifting back. This retainer is provided free of charge at Équinoxe Dental Clinic.
